I moved to Denver from Miami more than a year ago. I wanted to get away from the humidity and the tourists and my past and start fresh in a new location that felt extremely different from where I had grown up.
So I packed up my bags and moved across the country. I stuck a pin in a map and landed on Colorado. There are much worse places I could have ended up without a doubt. I’m glad I didn’t find myself in Nebraska or Kentucky hulling corn. Although I would have done that for a change.
Now that it is my second winter in Colorado — or, really, my second winter anywhere because of a lack of seasons in south Florida — I can’t help but miss the days where I could go out of my house in my flip-flops and get some fish tacos beachside before flipping my sandy hair up into a bun and running into the waves. There’s something so serene about the ocean. Don’t get me wrong, the mountains are beautiful. They have a zen of their own.
But the beach is truly where my heart is. I am loving this adventure and trudging through snow every morning is certainly part of a change I was looking for. But as the temperature continues to drop, I find myself seeing more and more that I was not cut out for this kind of weather. No matter how many layers I pile on, I shiver and whine until I’m back in a warm climate. I can’t help but get cranky when I have to get up in the morning and it is 14 degrees out. Who wants to walk two blocks in the snow just to get to their car, only to be shivering for 15 minutes until the car warms up, and then have to get out again to be at work? Not this girl.
I sometimes can’t believe how much I long for home. Although I love my new life, I do sometimes wonder if it was the right move for me. My mom was worried about me and my lack of connections to this city, so for Christmas she got me a Disney vacation package so that I could go home and see her and hang out with Mickey in the warm weather. I was so excited to think of going home and I’ve heard Disney vacations are so much fun.

Any kind of back pain or spinal discomfort can be extremely painful. There are a variety of factors which can cause pain. The good news is that there are also quite a few techniques for successful recovery from spinal pain. Pain can be alleviated from patient’s necks, legs, or lower back – but it usually requires surgery. That is why learning about the newest laser spine technology can be so helpful.
Laser spine surgery is a minimally invasive procedure which gives the least injury possible in liberating muscle tissue from pain. It is an out patient procedure which has a high effectiveness rate and a quick recovery period.
Laser spine technology means that surgeons can create a precise incision. Through that delicate incision, the surgeon can easily access the regions affected by spinal pain. It’s a gentle way of getting to exactly where the problem lies.
Typically, laser spine technology is used to perform microdiscectomies. This is a patient-preferred for ridding a person of a herniated or ruptured disc. With this procedure, the spinal doctor puts a laser fiber needle into the patient’s inner disc to create space. Once the space is created, a laminotomy is performed on the split disc itself. Due to the space, the nerve endings and compressed so that the lamina which covers them can be uncovered. Then, the affected area is cut with an incisive laser beam.
With the latest spine technology and laser spine surgeries, patients are less likely to bleed – because there is only one cut. It also causes less pain and has a shorter recovery period. Some of the spinal disorders which laser spine surgery can alleviate are: nerve pain, arthritis, radiculopathy, foraminal stenosis, and even sciatica.

A new wood flooring company recently opened in Sunnyvale, California. The company, G&A Flooring, specializes in wood flooring design and also manufactures other wood fixtures to complement the wood floor you choose. The new store has been open for roughly a month and it is receiving excellent reviews from its shoppers. We love to support local Sunnyvale businesses and would like to share a few customer testimonials.
My name is Sherry Wilde and I recently shopped at G&A Flooring. Ever since I can remember, I have had linoleum floors in my kitchen and washer / dryer room. They were easy to clean, but they were not attractive whatsoever. I decided I wanted to install an elegantly designed wood floor in both of these rooms. I started shopping around, but I was receiving estimates that were entirely too expensive. I finally checked out G&A Flooring and was given a great estimate. After choosing my wood pattern, a salesman at G&A Flooring informed me that it would only be $2,000 to install the new floor. This was significantly less expensive than the other places that had quoted me. I scheduled them to install my new wood floor and it was done just three weeks later. I thought the turn around time would be at least two months, so I was very happy with their quick progress. Now, my kitchen and washer / dryer room look wonderful. For anyone shopping for a new wood floor, I recommend G&A Flooring in Sunnyvale. – Sherry Wilde
My name is Brad Littleman and I recently shopped at G&A Flooring. I have had wood floors in my house, but they were getting very old and I decided it was time to replace them. I shopped around to a few flooring companies and discussed my dilemma with a few different independent contractors. They all gave roughly the same price, which was outside of my budget limit. I kept shopping around and thankfully came across G&A Flooring. They have a showcase to show the customer all of the different flooring patterns and it was extremely helpful. I was able to pick out exactly what I wanted for my house and schedule a time for their installation guys to come out. In just four weeks time, I was looking at a brand new wood floor in my house. I was very satisfied with their work and recommend them to anyone interested in getting wood floors. – Brad Littleman
Although G&A won’t be able to create the same wood floors Denver has, they will get you a great looking floor that fits your Sunnyvale home. Contact them today!
